How the LOXX® Lower Part Supports the Locking Action

How the LOXX® Lower Part Supports the Locking Action

There’s more to the LOXX® lower part than meets the eye. It’s not just a base, it’s the foundation of the entire locking mechanism. And depending on your material, application, and tension demands, there’s a version ready to get the job done right.

Start with the Right Fit

For fabric or canvas, begin by punching a clean 10 mm hole. The threaded version of the LOXX® lower part slides through from the underside. Secure it with a washer, tightened firmly with a LOXX® key. Skimping on this step means you’re asking for slippage, especially under tension.

Need to adjust for thicker material? Use the high washer for an extended clamping range of 1–4 mm. Standard washers hold tight on 0–3 mm.

Screwing Into Solid Surfaces

If you’re mounting into plastic, wood, or composite, you have options:

  1. Self-tapping screws are built to cut their own threads. Just position, screw in with a 9 mm socket, and you’re done.
  2. Metric screws require a pre-threaded hole, but they offer precision. Multiple lengths and diameters are available.

Going Beyond Flat Surfaces

The pipe clamp model is made entirely of stainless steel and wraps securely around pipes or hoses. A metric screw tightens the two overlapping ends. No need to disassemble the pipe, it clamps on after the fact. Available in three sizes for different diameters.

Mounting Plates and Specialty Bases

  1. The oval plate gives you a sturdy flat surface mount, screw it or rivet it.
  2. The TBR plate is a smart replacement for swivel fasteners on tarps or marine fabric. Same hole pattern, easier handling.
  3. The round stainless plate? Great for adhesive mounting or screw-based setups, ideal where drilling is tricky. Clean surfaces thoroughly before gluing.

Rail Systems and Rivets

For profile rails, the plastic dowel version clicks in easily. After placement, a self-tapping screw anchors it in place. Clean. Strong. No need for glue.

Riveting? The riveted lower part handles up to 20 kg of pull force and can be installed with a press or machine. It’s ideal for thinner materials and quick, repeatable installations.

One Last Tip

Using a screw-based model? Consider threadlocker or regular checks to keep your fastener tight and secure over time.

With LOXX®, you’re not just locking something in place, you’re building confidence into every connection.
