19 Jun How the LOXX® Upper Part Locks into Place
The LOXX® upper part may look like a simple piece of hardware, but it’s a whole world of smart design, adaptability, and strength packed into one sleek form. Whether you’re mounting on fabric, metal, or plastic, there’s a version of the upper part ready to work with you, not against you.
Getting the Basics Right
The standard installation starts with a simple process:
Remove the washer, insert the upper part through your material, and screw the washer back on. A quick twist with the LOXX® tool and you’re done. The clamping range here is 0 to 3 mm. Need a little extra room? Swap in the high washer and extend it to 1 to 4 mm.
You’ll find upper parts with different cap designs, small, large, smooth, but they all install the same way. It’s the handling feel that varies, not the function.
When the Job Gets Tough
For harsh environments, think marine covers or high-tension tarps, the Heavy Duty (HD) upper part is the workhorse. Reinforced from the inside out, this one is built to take on wind, salt, and strain without breaking a sweat. It can even be opened and closed under tension using a special pull key.
Available in four different finishes, the HD version is what you reach for when durability matters most.
Fastening at Scale
For industrial workflows, the Fast LOXX® system is a riveted alternative with no threads at all. It requires a hand press (or a pro-grade riveting machine), where the washer and cap are permanently secured in one fluid motion. No screws, no twisting. Just fast, efficient attachment, available in nickel finish.
Thicker Materials? No Problem
- The XL upper part offers a longer thread and works with a high washer to secure materials up to 5 mm thick.
- The XXL version goes further, handling up to 9 mm with a standard washer.
- Need flush fitting? The short-thread XXL variant is your go-to, perfect for countersunk screws.
Finish It Off Right
From plated brass in various finishes to all-out 100% stainless steel, there’s a style and function for every industry, including marine, medical, and food-grade needs.
Every LOXX® upper part is built to resist rust and corrosion, so wherever you use it, it’s made to last.
